There is no more meaningful tribute than a memorial or honor gift to
SCOLA Volunteers for Literacy. Begun in 1979 with a
group of 11 tutors and 10 students, SCOLA has grown by leaps and
bounds. From July 2006 through June 2007 our agency served a total of
452 students and provided 16,959 hours of instruction. Students
who come to SCOLA Volunteers for Literacy never have to worry about the
cost of learning. That's because no one ever pays for our services.
Memorial and honor gifts help make this possible. These gifts of
generosity help pay for educating adults in Lackawanna
County who cannot read or write well enough to function in today’s
society.
Thank you for supporting SCOLA Volunteers for Literacy and allowing us
reach out and touch the lives of our students.
